A basic guide to the story and the characters
World
The Mahoyaku world is a pretty much magical one, but it also has its history. The world the wizards and humans live in is currently divided in five countries with different politicies, different landscapes and atmosphere that seems to also affect the personality and temperament for their inhabitants.

Each country has a tower with an elevator that will help people to quickly teleport to another country easily. In the image on the right, you'll see the five different countries:

-
Central country
-
Northern country
-
Eastern country
-
Western country
-
Southern country

That's also the order in which they appear in the game. We will briefly now explain which characteristics define each country and its people, since it's a big part of what the game is about: these stereotypes and general personalities are proven to be nothing but exactly that, a stereotype. There's much more than that to the wizards!
Central country
A country for those who excel at leadership
As we already mentioned in the subtitle: this country is known for being quite peaceful and for its laws and regulations. Since it's a kingdom, it's also famous for its knights and for the Granvelle Castle, which you can see in the image, where the royal family resides. A country originated after a revolution took place, it's only a few centuries years old.

Wizards from the Central country tend to like powerful things, being in control of themselves and fight for their honor and ideals. Strong-willed, straightforward but also kind of impulsive, Central wizards are truly stubborn and often put themselves in risky situations because of it.

Northern country
A country for those who set their own rules
A lonely, cold and long lived country that had existed since the beginning of times. Northern country is made by lands that are powerful on their own, a place where rules other than «only the strong survive» don't exist. Humans are rare in these extreme conditions, and so, they will end up creating villages under the care of the twins.

Wizards from the North are the perfect reflect of their lands' characteristics: long-lived, powerful and lacking of moral values. They're people who believe in themselves more than in anyone else, and because of this, they end up being lonely and not emotionally developed.

Eastern country
A country for those who rely on individuality
A country where rules are strict and that is perfectly designed for people who would like to not get involved too much with others. A rather gloomy country full of introverts and people who would rather read a book or dedicate themselves to their hobbies rather than joining others in social activities.

Wizards from the Eastern country are individualistic and like to set their own boundaries. They find joy in loneliness and the calmness that comes with it, but that doesn't inherently mean they have trouble dealing with others – they're actually very friendly and warm inside, like to protect their comrades and also have a strong sense of duty.

Western country
A country for those enamored with the world's beauty
This country is known for its advances in science and science magic. While this might have polluted the country to a certain extent (look at its grey clouds in the countries picture), it's also a place where arts are deeply treasured and admired. A cheerful, bright country tied to festivals and parties.

Wizards from the Western country are lively and love exciting, new things. You'll often find them attenting to parties, musicals, in the threatre... However, they also tend to be rather eccentric and are weak to resisting to their very own curiosity, making them run into quite bizarre and difficult situations.

Southern country
A country for those who find comfort in peace
A country known for its inhabitants' caring, soft and tender nature. Everyone lives in community and helps each other out in this country, despite not being exceptionally cosmopolitan. It's the perfect place to retire to since wizards and humans get along perfectly well here.

Wizards from the Southern country are calm and kind, but their magic is somewhat weak compared to other wizards from other countries. However, they like to take care of people and help everytime they can and also have a strong sense of justice, as well as great ability to understand others.
